Residential Support Housing provides individuals with a valuable opportunity to live in a safe and supportive environment while they navigate their recovery journey from substance use and mental health challenges. These residential support services cater specifically to those with mental health or substance use disorders, assisting them in maintaining their functioning within the community. In our Residential Support Housing, a dedicated staff Housing Manager is available 24 hours a day to provide assistance and support.
Items you are 'Allowed' to bring into Residential Support Housing include:
- Personal toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, mouthwash, body lotion, sunscreen, etc. All items must be alcohol and propellant-free (pump-style only). We provide towels, bedding & cooking utensils.
- Appropriate Clothing: Please limit your belongings to 2 bags or suitcases, as you will be sharing a room and storage space.
- Prescribed medications, clearly labeled in the original prescription bottle. Medication will be stored in personal lockers onsite, and medication checks are required.
- Identification
- Photos
- Magazines and Books (no pornographic material of any kind)
- Envelopes and Stamps
- Hobbies: We encourage you to continue engaging with your hobbies in a healthy manner while in our program. You may bring musical instruments, scrapbooking materials, sketch pads, etc.
Items that are 'Not Allowed' in Residential Support Housing include:
- Toiletries and/or cosmetics that contain alcohol
- Contraband or Weapons of any kind
- Do not bring valuables, as Beacon House is not responsible for the loss or theft of any items during your stay.
- Any pornographic material
- Drugs and/or Alcohol. All medications must be stored in clients' personal lockers at all times, and medication checks are required.
- Candles and/or air fresheners.
Rules of the Residential Support Housing Program will be provided to clients during the admission process. The onsite staff House Managers are also available to assist new clients with questions and to help them familiarize themselves with the rules of the house.
